I used to hate that time of the month. The whole world seemed to crash down on me and the pain was horrible. Both physically and mentally. But this time I’m prepared!
I have organised my schedule to allow some rest and started both iron tablets and chocolate beforehand. (Chili strawberry choc! ♡)
Why tracking your cycle is important?
I still have cramps, pain and the mood swings but when I started to follow my cycle more thoughtfully, I realised how much I can actually affect to those worst days by my own actions.
There is really no point of trying to run forward in full speed when your body needs to do something else. By following my cycle consistently, I can clearly see when I’m in the full speed mode and when definitely not. With that information in mind I can plan my work and other things to match the mode and go with flow and not against it.
How to track the cycle
For keeping up with my period I use two things. One is my printable lunar calendar, which I keep in my bullet journal and just print a new one when the old one ends. It’s designed to be able to to track the period and the moon phase at the same time.
Moon cycle has a hell of a lot to do with your own one, so that’s why I actually made this tracker in the first place, to have those in the same page and comparatible. Tracker itself has two cells to make notes, one for the body and other for the mind. Tracking your mood side by side with your physical phase helps you to understand your own cycle even more.
Secondary I also use app called Flo, which comes in handy as it predicts my cycle based on the earlier information given. Flo is quite accurate now when I have used it several years so it helps a lot when planning something in the future too. So as I told you, I’m prepared and you can be too!
How to prepare for that time of the month?
Clear your calendar, allow yourself some rest (and chocolate), feel free to feel everything that comes within. Remember that it’s just a phase of cycle and let go. Oh, and be more open about it. That affects to all of us and helps to understand this natural part of womanhood better and to support each other living with it. ♤
With this idea of openess came also the whole Let it flow Collection. To empower us to be more proud and more open about all the sides of womanhood. I have some surprises still unlaunched regarding the collection but you can buy your own already from here.

The daily text of today is not in here. It’s actually a letter to myself to be opened on January 11th, 2021. I’ve done one in school years and years ago (my daughter actually did the same quite recently) but after that, I got back to this lovely little piece of a routine last year. …
When I was a kid, I used to bury myself on the sofa with a pile of books I had borrowed from the library. Some things seem not to change that much. We haven’t had a sofa for years (or TV either) but the pile of books is still essential part of my everyday life.
