DIY bath bombs

By Aino on March 21, 2020

I always wish I had more time to DIY stuff and my Pinterest and notebooks are full of ideas I never have time to actually do. This time I decided to go for it and we ended up having so much fun with my daughter on this small but lovely project.

As we have a bathtub, doing bath bombs seemed fun and easy enough to execute after a long workday. I found the recipe from a magazine I bought from a flea market and all the ingredients seemed pretty easy to find too.

The main ingredients are baking soda and citron acid (to make the fizzing effect) and some oil to tie it together and to caress your skin. After that, the only limit is your imagination. I was surprised at how easy this whole process was.

We used coconut oil with lime because that we already had in our cupboard, citron acid I bought from a pharmacy and baking soda can be found in any grocery store. To add some scent and beauty, we mixed it up with peppermint essential oil, dried hibiscus flowers, and loose Christmas tea.

The results amazed both of us and were, of course, tested immediately too. So easy, lovely and without any unnecessary chemicals. And look how gorgeous those look!

DIY bath bombs

2 dl baking soda
1 dl citron acid
1 1/2 tablespoons of coconut oil
1 1/2 tablespoons of water
a random amount of other ingredients (tea, dried flowers etc.)

Mix everything up, starting with the acid and soda. The mixture is ready when it feels like wet sand in your hands. Put it in some molds (we used an ice cube tray) and let dry overnight.

Take an instagrammable photo and enjoy your bath! ♡⁣
